Pam Steele

Pam Steele is internationally known for her large-scale metal and enameled glass wall pieces, which have been commissioned for numerous private and public collections. Her experimental techniques in enameling, combined with unique metal patinas, make her pieces both painterly and sculptural. The metal compositions deal with direct manipulation of space by cutting up the metal image and reconstructing it sectionally, emitting a technological and architectural presence. The circles and triangles she creates have an elegant, spiritual quality. She also designs large sectional steel wing panels, and acid treated copper galaxy landscapes. Her HEART series gives new form to the iconic symbol of love, in copper and fired glass. The most recent TEXT pieces display common words with altered context.
